Rewarded with more work. Hey driver, Everything went smooth today. We need 1 more pick up 10 minutes away.... Yeah that turns into a clusterf**k. EVERY DANG TIME !
Meanwhile. The office puke is already home beating his wife and kids when you need information Pronto. Magically it becomes a ghost account. No one else knows what the heck is going on. except for mr. office puke!
Why are day cab guys always sleeping?

Not me man, My back was killing me on Tuesday so I pulled over laid flat on my back on the deck of the trailer in front of the dozer for 30 minutes. Felt much better after that.
Besides, there are a lot of day cabs that are used OTR. We have 8 of them. -
I used to run from Arkansas to California every other week with a 36 inch sleeper. When you got ready to crash you had to put all your stuff up in the front seat. Then crawl back in the coffin an crash out. It's quite a chore for a 6ft 3inch tall man to get dressed in a 36 inch coffin sleeper.

No info? No BOL? No office puke? No pickup. Problem solved.Shaggy Thanks this. -
I drive a daycab. From the time I walk out my front door to leave for work until the time I walk back in my front door it is rare for more than 10.5 hours to pass and I make 80k+/yr. Prior to this I worked for a "smallish" company (150 trucks) doing both OTR (5 days out---home weekends) and local tanker work. It was a very nice company to work for, but my current job beats it be a mile and then some.
No way I would ever go back to OTR again.Pintlehook and Cali kid Thank this. -
As a linehaul driver I average 6 hours of sleep. So I catch a nice dark spot every night for a nap in my day cab. I used to sleep 10-12 as a Otr driver. Too much to do when your home more. I remember running team Otr with my buddy. We had to wait at a truckstop for a load the next day. Dude slept 17hrs. Lol.
