don't burn those bridges, as the crude world is a small one... great attitude. I also believe in making the money while it is here, and saving, for the coming bust. Lived in around and with the oil boom bust cycle all of my life...Yes the great companies always have a waiting list, and somebody almost has to die, before they hire another driver.
Why are HAZMAT Crude Haulers working for the same pay (or less) as Water Haulers

I'LL GIVE ANYONE 10% of my pay every quarter (that's 10% gross times 67% fixed rate, for taxes, medical, dental, etc.) , for as long as I make and average above $95K gross on the W-2 for that quarter as a company driver; that's aprox $6700 after my regular deductions (tax - medical - plans) 4 times a year if you get me hired, help me get hired or refer me to someone who will hire me and I get hired. That's almosst $47,000 after 7 years.

You want to make $95K per quarter? Sign me up! I want a job like that too.

sorry, i meant as long as I average at least $95,000 gross per year for that quarter, then i'll figure out 10%, then multiply by 67% for my deductions and then give my benefactor the result and report it as a gift. Thank you for pointing out my typo.

Have you looked on Craigslist? Under Amarillo, Wichita Falls and Corpus Christi I have seen ads offering 3 weeks on 1 week off for crude haulers.
-
i have a question .. if you work as a water hauler for about 1 year what are your chances to get into crude hauling . have any water haulers become crude haulers?
-
I hear it's the same frying pan, except more oil
-
3 of the drivers here went that route, from water to oil.

If you don't jump around from company to company, keep a great safety record (no accidents or moving violations), and you qualify for hazmat I would say you should have no problem finding crude hauling work. There is high demand for drivers right now.
