every type of job/areer --has people complaing--it is human nature--some people whine and cry more than others--but that is just how it is--i would think it is better for people to air their issues than hold it in---
anyways---it isnt a job if you love what you are doing
granted some days the love is pretty thin--but for the most part--i wouldnt want to do anything else

I guess I have two questions here.

    1) If this forum is soooooooooo bad, why are you still here?

    2) Are you a serious poster, or just another troll?

For the most part the whiners didn't know what they were getting into when they went Truck'n. Some of its as others have said, they whine because they can. What you don't realize is there are hundreds of thousands of drivers who are happy. I'm in this group.

Yes, there are whiners around here, but I think whiners generally don't know/understand this biz and how you (the driver) really are in charge of your day and how it progresses. I mean, think about it for a second, you are given a dispatch, sometimes with nothing more than a brokers phone # and then you're on your own. YOU decide on how to get there, where to fuel, when to sleep, how to deal with shippers/consignees/Police agencys etc, any small truck problems/traffic/weather/family problems at home and of course your own state of mind. You can't call in sick, have to go hungry or without a shower or minimal sleep a lot, use a bush to go sometimes and then who do you complain to? Hence, the large turnover in this biz. You really need to know how to manage your time well. But, I gotta tell ya', I've seen/heard more braggarts in this biz than whiners.

Very good idea on how to open the eyes of Dejocko, but that person seems to be like many others. Focus on one subject in only one direction and not from every angle. Everyone in this world should always try to see every angle on every subject in order to have knowledge as to all possible ways the next step or even the outcome could possibly become, instead of only focussing on one direction that the events will happen. People are no exception to the travel and direction of life.

I started to post how much I love my job, how much information and help I got from the Trucker's Report before school, during school, during training and continuing help. I started to post how much this forum does to encourage those seeking information about the industry and those first starting out.

I started to post about how much joy I find in my job, my fleet, and simply driving. I started to post all of that then I realized it would fall on deaf ears.

In my honest opinion the OP posted ONLY to insult and.......well.......to WHINE.

Often people come to the forum looking for fast, easy answers on how to get a job easily and make big money. They get offended when they don't get handed the answers they wish to hear on a silver platter and told "yes it's an easy job, lots of money and baby we've just been waiting for YOU!" They even get offended when they're told to use the search feature.

This is a great forum, it's a rare breed because it combines EVERYTHING into one forum. There's experienced drivers, new drivers, wannabees, jobs, complaints, wives, male drivers, female drivers, politics, religion, mechanical issues, weather reports, jokes, business advice, tax advice, health advice, help for one another and support of each other. That's a heck of a lot of stuff to put into ONE forum and have it work. It works because of an owner, administation and staff that grasp the idea that driving is only ONE aspect of a truck driver. And yes an occassional rant or whine is needed by people who work hard.

Personally I'm glad you're "done". don't let the door hit ya in the DOT bar.

If your not in the large group of whiners than you shouldn't be offended by this. I did not call every trucker a whiner.

I have honestly gotten some good advice / info here. However if you just come on here and click around through different threads more often than not you just find complaint after complaint and it's very depressing and makes me not want to read here.

People complain about companies and or schools without taking responsibility for their own action. I was at school people got kicked out for lots of different reasons which was their own fault but want to make it seem like the schools.

I have a friend at orientation (I go next week) and he says there is a ton of "experienced truckers" there whining about stupid #### and talking about how they have been with 15 companies. It's no wonder you've been with 15 companies if you go cry baby mode and leave a truck and a load sitting at a truck stop because your having a bad day.

I was just really frustrated this morning when I came across so many threads of people complaining about stuff that was probably their own fault and want to come here and tell everyone about it but blame it on someone else to obtain some sense of self righteous justification for the poor choices they made. It just made me want to ask why there are so many cry babies.

If you can't handle something than you need to get out and go do something else. I'm not going to sit here and say I'm an awesome "trucker" (especially when I haven't done a single load yet) but I'll tell you one thing. I'm ###### sure going into this with an attitude that's going to let me make this into a career. I've been through enough BS in my life to know to let most of it go and do my job and wake up tomorrow and go at it again.

I guess I would just like to think that with all the BS in day to day trucking most people would have figured that out too and evolved to make the best of it. Laugh at yourself and other stupidity, learn from it. Move on and live life to the fullest.

Sorry for any toes I stepped on, I was just frustrated with the pointless whining.
