*nods* That sounds a lot different than saying the forum only serves to run people off.
I'm sorry for saying don't let the door hit ya in the DOT bar. Look you did exactly what most people do when they whine. You blew off steam.
That's what ticked me off. Perhaps you can find a pattern of whose posts offend you and then either ignore them or put them on ignore. I tell people who don't like my posts: hey ignore me! it won't hurt my feelings and you'll feel a lot better.
I hope your day gets better.
Why are most truckers such cry babies?

People come here for information and don't realize that and make the trucking industry seem like a super scary place.
Because of things I read here I went to school anticipating the worst and I got there and sure the rooms weren't that great but all the people I interacted with were extremely nice and helpful it was probably one of the best experiences I've had as far as personal growth and interacting with all types of people I never would have expected to interact with.
After that experience I am now very hopeful I will have a similar experience at orientation and with my road trainer. Though I remain aware that life isn't perfect and crap happens but I can move on.
I hope people researching coming into trucking read this and realize that there is a lot of whining and complaining on the forums but in all reality life isn't as bad as the cry babies make it. Put your big boy undies on and make it to tomorrow. -
Dejocko, You haven't even hauled a load yet and your already complaining......... that say's it all right there. Can you say "Irony"?
-
If you can't see the difference between "complaining" about people whining about things that are their own fault and those that are actually whining about things that are their own fault then.... you have serious issues.

Come back in 2 or 3 years and see how you do.
Fact 1.... putting up with unending nit-picky ####e every #### day builds up on you.
Fact 2.... you have nobody to tell about it. Dispatch doesn't care, company doesn't care, truck stop waitresses don't want to hear about it and neither do other drivers. They've got a gutfull of crap of their own. If you're any kind of man you do not take it home to your family.
Fact 3.... When you find a place like this you can let some of it out because the rest of us understand.
Fact 4.... YOU have NO RIGHT to come on here and judge anyone at all; because you have NO #### IDEA what it's all about. You haven't even begun to EARN the right to speak down to the folks here.
Now go learn, get you a job.... and then come back and grouse along with the rest of us.ChromeDome and Rerun8963 Thank this. -
That's it..... get it all out. I want you know that while others on here will tell you "I told you so" after you come crying back to everybody how Johnny law gave you a trivial logbook ticket, or some guy just flipped you off because you didn't move over to let him on the highway, or your dead tired but the consignee won't let you park on there lot so then you get harrassed by some other cop for parking down the street when the gaurd said it would be ok to park there, or the directions you've been given were way off and now your lost, late and gonna miss your next load, or your girlfriend is pissed at you because you ain't gonna be home this weekend, or you miss your son's big game of the year even though the company said they would get you home, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, and one more etc.
Remember that my bleeding heart liberal ### will be here waiting for you with open ears. Everything is gonna be ok......hush now and get some rest before you start trucking school. -
Dejocko, You should do fine Truck'n because I think you have a positive attitude. As others have posted folks whine for many reasons. I think most of the ones who get fired deserve what they get. Truck'n is about moving freight and if you can't or won't: SEE-YA. Keep in mind many folks are happy,go home when they want, make money, ect. Keep your eye on the prize. Good luck.

-
