I have found the ones usually open are 45 south at Centerville, north at New Waverly. The one south on 77 north of Harlingen is usually open as well

It only matters if you're
Coolbreeze100 Thanks this. -
The current outfit I am with tells us we have no problem with scales, however we are expressly forbidden to take 45 north out of Houston. Their logic is, "Doesn't matter if you have a brand new truck with 100 miles on it, they will find a violation" so when we head out back to Oklahoma, they want us to run 610 to 290 to 6 to 35W(you get the idea) I was taking 59 north to Livingston then cutting over to Huntsville, then 45 to 287 and cutting over. Someone at the office heard Texas DOT knew drivers were doing this and set up scales on 190, so no more of that. It's not like we run unsafe equipment or outlaw on hours, they are really kicking it on the whole CSA thing. I don't want to stir the pot ay work, but an older driver told me that purposefully avoiding scales was a big no no. -
I take it you seldom drive down us59 from Texarkana? That southbound scale is open just about every day

Abernathy is open at random, as well as Shamrock. But they really like pulling them portables out of the back of the Tahoe when they catch ya by surprise.
