Yes, I grew up in the old school of driving and sharing the highways. It is sad how things and times have changed. Progress is not always friendly.![]()

The original purpose of the Interstate road system was for commerce!! Secondary, was for same reason that Hitler wanted the Autobahn---military movement of supplies & troops. Eisenhower saw how it helped the Allies win & occupy Germany after WWII.
And third, has now developed into the nations network for interconnecting the U.S. States for the population as a whole! Hope that 'they' are enjoying 'our' highway system!!!!

I once watched a lady in a BMW (California) take off her jacket, pull off her pants (she had shorts underneath) and remove her shirt (she had a bikini underneath) all while going through traffic on the I5 around Stockton. Amazing.
I have to admit that I was disappointed she wasn't changing MORE clothes, but hey...
Brickwall Thanks this. -
If you had time to watch all that - who was driving your truck..hmmmmmm?
-
I could answer this but would be BANNED!

Yeah, beggars can't be choosy, right? I was backed up in traffic in the slow lane on the North side of Houston, when I came up to a big Lincoln with a beautiful blond babe laying down in the front seat. She had on short shorts, and tight white blouse; well filled out. She was facing the driver and I know she was not bobbing for apples. She stopped what she was doing and looked up at me and gave me a big smile! To this day, I don't think her boy friend deserved that kind of care and maintenance . ..
Sure do get lonesome out there sometimes.

HAHAHA!!! I do miss being otr sometimes. Now that I'm running a 26 mile round trip I don't get to see any of these things anymore. Just people in a world of hurry to get out in front of me only to run 5 to 10 miles below the speed limit. Which is rough for me since I run horribly overweight. (Its wrong I know but thats part of what I do)
-
....you locals are known for running over weight since yall dont cross any scales!! I would too...ha ha
-
I know thats right! The DOT are thick around here with their portable scales so its a little crazy but they usually leave me alone. I guess because I keep my trucks as clean as I can. When I scale out @ 98,000lbs + it makes that 13 mile journey to the press board factory a slow go. Especially through town. May as well forget high range until you get on the north side. Haha!

Me. I was in traffic with her.
