Why are Volvos so much better than all other Class 8 trucks?

This was my last truck. Yeah a Volvo. But the recent rebuilds of all the major parts and the specs made me go, oh why the hell not. So yeah I fixed it up some, and who knew they made chrome for Volvos. But my genius in being stealth was putting on a full size moose bumper, and modifying a light strip for under the bumper helped at night. After that I'd get guys asking what it was when they drove past. I usually didn't say anything. But more times than not someone would guess Western Star, and they I'd say yep lol
Anyhow, the specs were 700 hp, 2250 torque and a 3.21 rear end. I drive the mountains in BC and this thing pulled like a frieght train. I added auto chains, and a few other good things. The EGR was deleted and no def or dpf, not governed either. Life was good....

Lol, Western Star sleepers are fuggly. I don't know how you could miss the difference. :D I like the top curve on the sleeper better than the FL bubble look.

Nice truck! I have never seen a Volvo look that good. How well did the auto chain work and how much did they cost? I didn’t know that you could delete DPF in Canada.

All Volvos? Neither of my Peterbilts nor my Kenworth have such a gap. The panel that is the support for the mattress, on all of these, went right up to the wall where the shelves and closets are. There is no gap there, let alone one that you can't reach in there.

My international has the gap. Dropped my phone down it with the alarm going off at 1:30am. #### my life.

I've had 1996 T600, 2000 century, 2006 Columbia, all had pieces of foam stuffed here and there to quiet the squeaking from cabinets and dash. Wind and motor noise loud. Now 637,000 miles on a 2010 VNL730. Quietest truck I've ever been in. Smoothest riding truck ever been in. Warm in the winter cool in the summer. Best built truck ever made. (and the safest too)

I noticed when you guys mention the Volvos are you only talking about the 780s? Or do the 670s also have a smooth quiet ride?

Just talked to my friend in a Volvo, something about the cab and sleeper scooting to the left and the refrigerator just died completely, supposed to be getting it fixed.

I'll take the Cascadia, but I've never been towed because it wouldn't run, either. That would make a difference.
