Why are Volvos so much better than all other Class 8 trucks?

I wish someone with mechanical knowledge would tell me why they ride so good.

Good question. It seems like the cab suspension is the same as inferior Freightliners and KWs but the ride is so much better. Even so there is room for improvement. I’m going to order my next one with air ride front suspension and disc brakes.

At the risk of having the admin edit my post, delete it or ban me, I will list my 1st complaint about a Volvo, and pray that while writing it, I will not use any colorful words to describe the mental midgets who designed those trucks. And while thinking about it, the catch word of Samuel L. Jackson came to mind.

Anyway, between the cabinet and the bunk there is a gap that is more than wide enough for eyeglasses, cell phones, keys, pens, etc to fall in between, but the same pithead who designed that didnt design it with enough room to get a hand in there to pull them out!

From there, the Volvo experience is straight downhill!

I can't comment on them cause I've never been in one but I do remember when back in the day, they had problems with the trucks front axle making weight even with light loads im sure they corrected that by now..

Cost is , do you want to keep making payments, or have a paid off truck, work less, take a vacation, or a staycation and ride the motorcycle. Everyone is different. My 01 379 is quite dependable, sure it requires parts and attention. Does it require 1,700 to 2,200.00 a month parts and attention? I would say no way. Does it rattle some? A little. Is it kinda noisy inside ? Yes a little. Does it have 1.9 mil. miles ? Yes on the truck, not on components. A c-15 growls some, a noisy engine. The truck still has great resale value. Will it wear out? Of course. So will I. Someone said peter jockeys regurgitating words. Explain what you mean. Just curious.

Wow! I had to stop myself from using that kind of language because just thinking about it really got me angry!
