Why are we so concerned with fuel prices?

Will increased fuel costs put you out of business?

And to people that didn't. I think I had about fifty grand in the bank when we got our first stimulus check.

No doubt. Pretty hard to fail when they gave so much out. I've never had anything like that in my life before other than a couple hundred from Bush and Obama.

Its a bit different for me. I drive locally and am paid by the load. Because my truck has an 893ci turbo i6, I get about 5mpg. So at $5/gallon I pay $1 every mile to move my truck. So a 24 mile drive costs me $48 to make a round trip. That load pays $148ttt. Im still ok with my bills, but if this keeps up Im gonna have to start doing exhibition shows pulling tree stumps out of the ground. o_O

I wouldn’t do that for that little of money if fuel was free.

I had a pretty good week, all things considered. Freight is definitely down but still ok. This is coming from a 6 month O/O with a fuel eating truck.

Just called engine guy yesterday. He had a mechanic quit so it won’t be done as soon as I hoped. If this is luck of the Irish I want to give it back lol.

If it wasn't for bad luck, us Celtic folk wouldn't have any luck at all. Things are just winding down a little since we're close to the end of the first quarter. Second and third quarters are the best of the year for me. Expect things to start ramping back up in a couple of weeks. As long as you're up and running by then you won't miss too much. Raise your rates to cover your fuel. Don't penny pinch so everyone else can profit off you. The truck is the mule and everybody knows it.

I’m far from getting nervous. Maybe if I had a huge truck payment it would be different. Definitely glad I took the route I did with an old truck, even with the tired worn engine.
