that 100 more miles ONLY matters if the customer will unload you and you have another load planned right after. Half these guys running that speed are just wasting money as they will then spend way more then 10 hours in a truck stop. I Run tight loads as most of my loads are from kill plants so the chance of a load being out early isnt that good and not uncommon for them to be late.

you run kill cows that’s leisurely I’ve done it twice and hated every second of it. To answer your question when I leave home I can only think of getting back asap, but when you start buying my fuel I’ll slow down I guess

Hell more power to you to run fast just don't understand why people are with today's fuel prices. Seemed like when diesel was $2.70 a gallon everyone was going slow now that it's $5 a gallon people are going fast.

That’s why I pad my expenses for any quotes I give….

I don’t need practice in a truck, it starts and goes to work to make money, if I’m not doing that I can drink beer in the shop and not worry about breakdowns and burning fuel

I stay about 65-70 loaded (depends on weight and dimensions) and 73 unloaded. It keeps me from stacking up with the packs of governed trucks, cause it’s nothing worse then being oversized and these idiots wanting to hug right up against you.
As far as fuel mileage goes I get about 3.5

Keep asking your question because people are very funny.

When fuel was at its highest, I asked why so many trucks idle. Seems counterintuitive with the price of fuel right?

I had Geniuses tell me it cost them less money to idle. They told me they like to idle their truck. They said they don't care about the expensive emission systems. They don't want to put a generator on their truck because they're better than that... whatever that means.. they 'll just idle and happily pay for the fuel. Some even said that's the best money they've ever spent in their life on fuel idling.

And then you hear them crying oh fuel is so expensive, rates are low, boo hoo hoo.

    It's pretty funny.
