at all my last employers, i was dedicated. there was no detention worries.
as a result, and with being retired, i have no more dog in that fight.
even when i had other jobs that were not dedicated, detention was not an issue.
further, i really do not "see" the feds doing anything much about this....what are they gonna do, demand we get paid? demand the shippers/recievers get us in/out quick?
not gonna happen.
they will simply "make a study, post the stats, and be done with it, and good luck for the trucking companies to ever really do anything as well, cuz if they buck the system, they WILL LOSE customers, and there will be a few dozen other companies will to take all that freight. -
No, but you make it sound like it's every pension fund and that is not the case.
-
Well who's fault is it?
-
It’s your fault

I don't think so. I'd think a man of your education and experience would be able to back up his opinions with some substantive data.

If you really think this is about the government saying you need to be paid for detention time... Well you might have another thing coming.
As I understand it at this point they are only trying to discover how much of an impact these wait times have on the industry... I.E. safety, efficiency. IMO if the government decided to do anything, they will create regulations that require shippers/recievers to get drivers onto a dock and loaded/unloaded in a timely manner. I highly doubt they will say we have to be paid for said detention time. -
I can Dave, just don't care enough about to get into a match of wits with an unarmed man.
