Wondering if anyone knows the reason you can not get a Detroit in anything but a freightler and western star nowadays?
I know international, Peterbilt and kenworth all used to have Detroit as a option but it seams like nothing after 2003.
Why can you only get Detroit engines in Freightliner and western star

I know that but is there a reason they no longer offer it in any other trucks since 2003? I have had a 2002 international and a 1998 kenworth with a Detroit. They once sold them to other truck manufacturers, I’m wondering why they do not anymore.

A lot of people are brand loyal, there used to be people that would only buy a W9 with a Detroit. So Freightliner was hoping they would be more loyal to the engine than they were the truck.
To simplify that GREED is why.Rideandrepair, x1Heavy and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
