usually i shift 3H 4h 5h 6h 7h 8L and 8H
why because of engine load even in this way it is always full loaded and going thought mud and uneven terrain i am always at full "gas"
it made 2300km from oil change end it started to use it
fuel consumption is about 52-53L /100km
some guys from my country drive load from Hamburg Germany to Kyrgyzstan and that is more than 5300 miles in one direction and some of them to Tajikistan about 4800 milesome guys from my country drive load from Hamburg, Germany to Kyrgyzstan and that is more than 5300 miles in one direction and some of them to Tajikistan about 4800 mile -

You are propably one of those who has never been in Europe. Eurasian continent is quite big, then there's also North-Africa. -
thats HUGELY dependant on weight..

This is '01 actros 16st automatic (EPS - electronically pneumatical shifting) transmission.
As you can see, heavier and bigger.
Well, gentelmen, some of you drive trucks with ZF Astronic/Freedom line. It is full synchro, air controlled. The same weight as Mercedes transmission. So what is the curb weight of truck with ZF Freedom Line comparing with 10 sp. crash box? -
How heavy are your B-doubles? I drive like that at 60 tons, it stays on the "green band" all the time, maybe goes a little bit to yellow/red band.
-
Pablo as the Astronic boxes we have stripped don't have syncros.
Their parts are almost 10 times the price of the 16sp manual ZF boxes. -
small correction astronic is not syncro
it is 70kg lighter than zf 16s -ecosplit and 30kg lighter than 12s ecosplit
astronic is 240-250kg without intarder(70kg) -
I agree with whoever brought up the Super 10....when i move something connected to the trans i expect it to shift
-
may be I'm wrong but I used to order parts for Astronic. I'm sure there is splitter synchro and range synchro. I'm not sure aboiut 1-2-3-4 synchros. What I used to change - tranny brake. May be it is used to shift w/o synchros.
About the price... it is too hight. IMO. Mercedes EPS is better. Less money for parts, all shifting stuff is not hidden inside cover and it is easier to fix.
Anyway, for me I'd prefere 10 st transmission. More reliable thing.
And guys, for Europe Eaton makes full synchro transmissions. I do not really know about weigt difference.
