are you sure YOU can buy a car with a credit card?

my son has incredibly great credit, and he thought he could buy a car on his credit card, but he could not, he could only pay down something like a down payment.

then too, the interest rates on credit cards are like what percent and up?

the interest rate alone will kill you over a traditional bank note.

3 Times When Buying a Car With a Credit Card Makes Sense

i also just somehow feel that you do not have a credit card capable of over say a limit of $200,000.

cuz if YOU DID have that much available credit on a credit card?

then you most certainly can buy a truck, with CASH..

frankly, all i saw was credit card..

and if he's got that much money in the bank, he can write out a check. i'd be thinking that high dollar a purchase, the dealership will want a check. (or cash)

Buddy pretty well said it. But otherwise, more information needed. Maybe it’s due to fees? Or charge backs? I’m not sure why you would want to do such a thing anyway. You could do a cash advance on your credit card and achieve the same thing that way. If there is a will, generally there is a way.

believe it or not, when someone takes out a cash advance on a credit card??

they get whacked with interest rates as high as any purchases, and now that person has 2 finance charges each month to pay off!!

    one for the purchases

    one for the cash advance.....

you almost can never get to pay it off.

also if i recall, credit cards are

    "unsecured" loans (or purchases)

dealer is gonna want security on that purchase.

Yea I did purchase a car for $2300. Few other dealerships said okay for newer cars as well. I have one year no apr interest. My purchase range is for a 20k to 35k truck

a used car hasn't the same value as a new car. i''d be very interested in hearing the new car dealer allow such a purchase on a credit card for a new car. now, you just said it's for only 60 days till you pay it off.

why not just gather up all your cash, walk in plop it down, pick out a truck and drive off, cash paid?

what will you do if in those 60 days, you contract Corona virus and land in the hospital?

that interest starts accruing, doesn't it?

Very bad idea, but it’s you life.
Dealer doesn’t want to give up 3 to 5 % credit card fee. Plus they lose the kickback from the finance company they hook you up with,

I do such a thing to hold on to my money for 60 days before paying full and also convenient rather than running to bank for cash and back and forth to dealership.
