The only problem I have is its way more difficult to get a shower lately, wait I have more problems, loves averages 5 showers a location with a wait at most so I avoid the old fashioned wait game there, ta/petro lack locations, but have decent showers and the best app for getting instant showers. Loves is horrible period most things about that chain is so stuck in the old slow time wasting ways with pitiful overpriced road toys and gimmicks. Pilots/J have a better shower system at least. I like the part of the new handbook shower daily, but a shower is a non reimbursable (personal) expense, Swift fix this ASAP cheapos. Mac 22 reason "waiting on Loves shower line", taking it out of hos not my break time.

Conclusion, not using pilots/j have only inconvenienced the drivers they are supposedly now trying to "coddle".

I got lucky tonight. Walked right into the Loves I'm at and got one. Of course it's only 4pm and the lots barely half full. It'll get much worse later on tonight

I wonder if the loss of Swift business is part of why they went to 10 day shower credits and pump 500 gallons get free showers for a month.

I would say so ... On a side note, does everyone know that T/A-Petro is giving Swift drivers a free bottle of water when they fuel ... It's a thank you for coming back to the TA after being gone.

Stop crying about DEF. I don't fill it till I'm at 1/4 to 1/2 a tank. I don't know why some drivers want to fill it every single time. I put 21 gallons of DEF in my 2015 Prostar once. When it gets low, below 1/4 on the gauge, a low DEF light will come on. When it gets lower, you get a small derate. It's not the end of the world, top off when you're near a DEF pump.

They do that way for the same reason you do it they way you do DRIVER PREFERENCE
And by the way especially since winter is on the way its a good habit to be in.
Keeping that tank fuel will help keep it from crystallizing.

There is a heater to heat it up. Full or empty wont stop it from crystallizing. Another wives tail on TTR. It will freeze up and thaw fine.

yep you're right doesn't really matter if its full or empty.
but saying it's a wives tale it's really not. more of a misunderstanding also in the winter time it's better to keep it around 3/4 full. When def freezes it tends to expand since, it's mainly water.

I've driven an entire winter with out any trouble at all. If there was a problem with DEF crystalizing, we would have warning stickers posted every where. It's not, it's just something that you made up. Having a fuel tank of diesel on the other hand is certainly a good idea. If the (DEF) tank is full and it freezes, it will probably expand and go out the dispenser opening.

It makes no sense at all to believe, if the tanks are full, DEF will not crystalize. If its 20 degrees out and you're parked and running your bunk heater, chances are that DEF has frozen many times over. WHen you're on home time and its below freezing, or its sitting at the shop, etc. It's taken care of, no need to worry or waste 5 minutes on each fuel stop to top of the DEF. It's just another delay at the fuel pumps and more time wasted on your 70 hour clock.

If you can post some information from manufacturers about a requirement to keep the DEF tank full in the winter, I'd like to hear it. Other wise, using my theory and logic, I'm calling keeping it full a wives tail. Bottom line, everyone does not need to worry about their DEF tank. There is a filter for your DEF, there is a heater for your DEF, it is maintenance free.

All you need to worry about is your fuel gelling. Idle your engines, use fuel additive, and try not to let your tank run low. I've got more important things to worry about then DEF.

It's no misunderstanding, I just don't want other drivers getting bad ideas put into their head. The truck will still run with a frozen DEF tank, it will thaw. Everything has been taken care of.
