The fifthwheel is a coupler with an assembly of parts. That includes two plates to make it work. The coupler plate, jaw plate, fifthwheel plate, old schoolers in the oil field used to call them turn tables, but whatever you want to call it is one part. The king pin plate also known as a bolster plate on the trailer is the other.
Why did the rear bumper get lower when I slid the tandems back to the rear of the trailer?

Another thread. If the trailers are the same exact make, model, and suspension then why are the ones with bigger wheels sitting higher at same dock, when Its only the wheels that are different? Or I’ve noticed that some of our trailers have gray wheels and some have white wheels. The ones with gray wheels sit higher. Why is that?
