Don't think they do what anymore? They definitely still slip-seat.

I thought there was a WM thread a free months ago and the guy said they don’t slip seat? I’m probably remembering it wrong.

I just spoke to WM and I was told slip seating is the way it is like it or not.

Maybe for a new driver, but someone who's been in the business a few years and has a working brain, shouldn't be a problem. MY last ticket in the big truck was 2013, my last ticket in my personal vehicle was 2018, I've run over a million miles since 2013. In 25 yrs, I've never had a fully at fault accident, I've had one accident and I was cleared of fault by the cops three months later once everything was complete.

I think it might depend on the DC, I know a couple guys here in Colo., and they don't slip seat.

Could be. But when it comes down it, if someone else looks at ABC truckings record and sees a bunch of unsafe driving, etc. then it is pretty much expected that Walmart should have reasonably known the same and made the choice to hire that trucking company anyway. That's what they get for wanting to pay just whatever they feel is reasonable. Want people not smacking vehicles with your equipment, pay for the experience. But in their defense at the same time, they do what they can to try to keep their prices low. Kind of difficult to do that and still profit in their arena, with all the thefts that happen daily at probably all of their stores.

Remember that accident when their own employee drove 700 miles to work and rear ended stopped traffic in a construction zone?. At the beginning of his drive time.

FWIW...In my recent 6-month long search for a truck, (had to upgrade to DEF for C.A.R.B.) Walmart released 100's of 2017-2020 Cascadia's. I had read on here about the slip seating and how the driver's were REQUIRED to clean and sanitize the truck for the next driver. So, I figured they would be EXTRA clean. I was kind of surprised. They weren't that much cleaner than any other truck I had looked at. I ended up buying a 2020 Cascadia RTI O/O truck. Spotless. Big difference when it's your personal truck. I mean that even if you're a company driver. I'm guessing the first time the slip seat driver before you leaves it "kinda dirty" you're like F it then if that's how it is.

    Siinman Thanks this.
