When freight and Ltl merged the Benson drivers basically lost their senority, Yes we all bidded to go to Benson Az, but for a perminate job. most of us were sent to Holbrook Az beneith other drivers whom most had less company senority? It wasent our fault that freight closed our yard after 10 mos. It feels like were being punished for freight closeing our yard. Now were at Holbrook and close to the bottom of the board! So when its time for bidding on runs we have to take the back seat, some of us are on nights, some have lower miles and some on just crummy runs. Then for the drivers that got stuck going east we now are breaking and hooking sets at Holbrook on our gravel yard? If fedex is makeing Holbrook a break bowel then at least they could blacktop a section so we can do that task safely! The terminals that are break bowles like san bernardino, El Paso, Dallas, Albuequerque, ect all have black top and its easy to break and hook. Our yard is gravel and hard to move the dollies on it. When we all finally got to Holbrook most of us were given the worst trucks that Holbrook had, We are now low senority so those above us got the better trucks. Well I guess company senority means nothing? Time of service, Whats that? Im still trying to see the fairness in all of this! I would have thought that company senority should have prevailled? Guess not.....![]()
Why did we loose our senority when freight and ltl merged?

we lost our bid seniority but kept our company seniority when it comes to layoffs.

Dude, why do you care? You're still sidelined, aren't you?

From the words you are using I get the impression that these are Union positions. Therefore, it appears to me that your local did not fight hard enough to have you all dovetailed into the other seniority boards. Therefore, you got the shaft and got endtailed into them. But, look at it another way. They could have just closed those terminals, with no follow the work clause, and you all would be out of a job. Therefore, be happy that you are still employed. So you have to take the undesireable bids, that is better then no bids and unemployment.

Complaining about blacktop.
Some of us are lucky to see gravel.
Just a one post, vent and run. -
Then I stand corrected. I retract my last, and I add I dont know.
