Do it! It ain't easy and it takes time and endurance on your part but its worth it. Best thing I ever did for myself! Best of luck.

I know. Right? I get stopped almost every day by someone wanting a selfie with me and to tell me how much they appreciate my work and dedication, and the professionalism I bring to the job. They are badgering me constantly with thanks for delivering the food and other things that make living worthwhile. And my employer is always throwing excessive amounts of wages and bonus money at me as a way to show their appreciation. There is TOO much respect for the best truckers out here today but let's be honest, I do bring an awful lot to the job

I like several others have said got into it because of my father. After I got out of the Air Force in 1980 I came home and did odd jobs until I got my Georgia class 4 license and started driving. I transferred that class 4 to a B CDL in the early 90s then to an A. I retired in early 2013, just got burnt out.

Burnt out from IT. Never going back... Well, maybe. I have to reach a YTD gross of 100,000...somehow. When I do, then I'll feel good about myself.
