When I drove for Stevens, when I came off of time off, they'd always have me shag an empty up to Amarillo from El Paso to pick up at IBP. I never unpacked my gear until I got there, I knew I'd be waiting for a while, gave me something to do. I remember at the old T/A there was a big table that was filled with Stevens drivers and we'd take turns calling the guard shack periodically to check on our loads.
I remember being at Joslyn, IL one night and another Stevens driver and I were talking to the female guard at the shack. There was a Schaffer driver being a prick to the guard over the CB. We were all getting annoyed by his attitude and his constantly asking about his load so we had a laugh as she looked at the pile of invoices that just came in, found his and said "No, it's still not ready, check back in a couple hours" and stuffed his bills at the bottom of the pile. He learned a valuable lesson, never be a jerk to the person in control of your paperwork.
Why do all Tysons take so long to load you?

Makes you wonder how many times your bills have been tossed to the bottom of the pile.
Being a prick or not. Professional service, she should have given the jack wagon his bills and gotten him out of her hair. Instead, she was as much a jerk as he was. Both of them stooping pretty low.lonelyswmtrucker Thanks this. -

I hope you get detention at least. My longest wait was over memorial day weekend. Told receiver I would be there noon Friday. Got there was told they wouldn't unload me till Tuesday. 91 hours and $1000 detention dollars later......
