Paper, papyrus, scrolls? What's the point?
Why, in a puff of smoke, or get wet, they're gone, gone, gone.
A good clay tablet lasts forever.
And it's a lot harder to make forgery!!
Why do alot of people dislike auto trucks please explain

In theory you could have ordered the 85 Suburban with the 4 speed manual as that was the "standard" equipment transmission but I'm pretty sure only a handful of them were ordered that way.
-
When we met, my wife's car was a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire with a manual transmission. I told her it was probably the only one like that, lol.
A manual equipped 1997-99 Camry like mine is rare as the stick only came in the CE base package and most were sold as LE packages like mine that didn't offer a manual. The Holy Grail of 1997-1999 Camrys is the manual equipped CE with the V6. -
Everyone should have at least one wind up (weather) radio in the house. Just to stay in touch with fact you can make your own electricity.
Well, some of it.
And maybe the manual purists should stick with wind-up radios, too.
Will have to talk to Pilot about adding a crank on the pumps for them...striker Thanks this. -
First off thanx to y'all who cleared up my earler questions...and secondly--If I had a dollar for every new thing that came along that was gonna be the death of this industry..I would be J paul getty and trucking would have ceased to exist 20 years ago--many of these anti auto arguments are the same ones I heard when--roadranger trannies came out then air assist steering 1st showed up--then power steering---then when you could no longer hit a wet road switch to disconnect your front brakes--then abs--etc eetc etc--the one thing I know for sure is in almost all these cases the first few incarnations of many of these technologies were not the best--but over time the were honed redeveloped and improved until they work pretty well--so Im sure this will be the case with transmissions...and while some will go willing others will go kicking and screaming---My father refused to drive any truck w/power steering or a road ranger type tranny...and got hours of pleasure ragin on my about my sissy power steering one stick 359...but what the heck we needed something to fight about besides how little I knew--LOL--jus like in my case(sionce my OTR days are numbered)Im NEVER goin on the road in a truck w/any elog type of devices..BUT--life and the trucking industry will go on...
PackRatTDI, Victor_V and "semi" retired Thank this. -

Wells Cargo (R.I.P.--pioneer Nevada carrier owned by wealthy Wells family) never retired a truck while I worked for them. So sometimes we pulled half-sets around LA with a 3-axle, long-nosed, Pete or KWs with two-stick, 4x4 trannies. Tractors were longer than the trailers.
Made for interesting backing into tight places.
You can bet a lot of that 4x4 generation said they'd never go to 10-speeds.
Not enough gears!! And that's the key...
New technology seems to need to skip over a generation or three.
Until they die out and make room.
