That's exactly what I was referring to. For some reason I thought it only had to be 24 after 14 days and not the full 36. So this is ONLY in Canada and not south of the border?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: It's 'he', btw.
Why do drivers not know how to run a recap anymore?

Never stopped doing my recap....daily. Just a habit I guess. I run teams with different partners sometimes and you wouldn't believe how many of them don't even know what a recap is or how to calculate it.
The 34 hr. restart is nice but the recap is a good thing to know and keep.
Now if we can only get that 5 on 5 off sleeper birth going again us team drivers would be less fatigued.... -
why? its simple.....LAZY.
-
Might be your opinion.
However, mine is that anyone that has to do the recap shows them to have little mental sense.
I can do the recap in my head.
Does that make any more sense than you thinking they are lazy? -
I don't really have to do the recaps anymore, but still burn the hours. Days start with a 15 - 30 minute pti and hook line 4 then line 3 for whatever 1.5 to 4 hrs, then once i hit consignee or stop go to line 4 for however long it takes from 30 min to 3 hours. Then either to backhaul or back to yard on line 3. If i stop anywhere ie coffee or bathroom break it is line 4. Before i hit the yard it is a 15 minute fuel line 4 then 15 minute line 3 (fuel in next town from terminal) then back to line 4 for either 15 to drop and pti or however long it takes to drop and hook. Entire day is spent on line 3 or 4, the way it should be, so a 14 hour day is not out of the question. start monday am usually done by friday at 3-4 pm. i have come close to using 70 but have two full days to recoup. I do miss running on recaps through the west but don't think i'll change what i'm doing for now
. Lovin the electronic logs, keeps me from running loose leaf and am still making a living. I used to run loose leaf and still wasn't making it living on the road. I do have a sleeper in the truck i drive but have yet to even nap in it. It is nice to have if I need to change due to weather. I may have an overnight next week. It seem that since the election there is a bit more confidence in the economy which is spurring the building materials industry.
