Is it really that lucrative though? When u think about $5/hr times about 200 hours of driving a month. That's a thousand dollars. If u get that kind of fuel then good for u, but Ill venture to say most people dont

where do u come up with $5/hour
-
Well 75x.47=35.25 and 65x.47=30.55 for a difference of $4.70/hr. I consider that pretty significant -
.47 what? is it cpm or what?
-
Yea the .47 is the cents per mile I get

remember the party always ends, it doesn't last forever
Cyanide and DrtyDiesel Thank this. -
I'm not out to save my company money, I love working here, I get paid extremely well, their trucks, their policies. Simple as that.
You wanna say that's $5/hour. So what. Anything adds up when you add it up over long periods of time. Like the people saying you'll save $500/year on insurance by switching to them or you'll make more money by driving faster. I say, what's your point?
No one forces you to work for a company with governed trucks, only the person can choose to.
Its not all about Money. I'm happy as long as I can make $600/week. That covers all my bills plus gives me some play around money. I'm not out here to make as many miles as I can. I drove 2600 miles last week, made $1200. If you say "well you could have ran more ungoverned", guess what? 2600 was fine for me, I don't wanna burn myself out.
I drive because its what I love to do, its my lifestyle I chose. I don't wanna be the guy running a full 11 hours then 10 off and a full 11 back on. I drive 60, that's all I need. I sit back, relax, and enjoy getting paid for what I love to do.
There is nothing wrong with driving a governed truck. I believe that mainly depends on what your hauling and the company you work for.
I love working here, I love my 61/65 governed 13 letter turd spreader.

I don't think our insurance company is that tight to be honest. I mean they did hire fresh out school with no experience to haul gas to stations.
And if that day comes I will want a significant raise in my cpm to make up for the $4.70 I would be losing, or I would find another job -
I drive a goverend truck because I like being a company driver. I will make $90k+ this year I don't think my truck being governed has hurt my pay
. Oh and I am home 48+ hours every week too. Cpm, benefits stability all rank higher in my book than a 70- mph truck.I If I owned my own I would probably run 57-62 mph for fuel.
Cyanide Thanks this.
