That's gotta be the smartest thing you've said. Its not all about money man. Also not all about driving a fast truck. I actually love working where I do. I'm treated like a person, not a number, and I make good money for my living. I'm not a greedy person.

I get paid by the hour and my truck isn't governored I rarely do over 70 and I'm usually around 60-62 but when I need to pass no problem I'm not stuck in the left lane holding up a mile of traffic too me its sad to see what this industry has become I remember when 70 was a slow truck now that's a fast truck lol I have my my beliefs and I'd take less money to drive a no governored out truck then drive a rolling road block holding everybody up just wondering when you guys are gonna get tired of big brother and wake up

Where are you making $5 more an hour?? If you have a load that goes is 1000 miles, you're still taking 2 days to get it there regardless of how fast your truck goes.

I don't think that anyone is saying they'd rather drive a governed truck over an ungoverned truck. Myself, I'd like to be in the latter but reality is that a company truck at the companies speed isn't bad either. If you're being a professional you can move out of the way of the faster trucks and slip in and out of the trucks that go slower... move your frieght down the highway... make your money... get home safe... come back out of the house and do it again. The question really should be, does the risk pay the gain?

Yea u guys sure got me good there......

Obviously your gonna make the same gross money on a 1000 mile load going 10 under the limit. But your still making about $5/hr less (obviously varying depending on what your cpm is). It would still take u 2 and half hours longer to drive that 1000 miles. Which could be time with your family or already being 2.5 hours into the next load

Hurry to get to a shipper/receiver, and then sit all day waiting to get loaded/unloaded.

after reading his posts for the past 2 days; i've finally figured out that he drives that truck hauling fuel as fast as it will go cause it will do it. just because a truck will run 75, 80, 85, 90, etc doesn't mean u have to drive it that fast. those who do drive it like that cause they know it will do it & wanna show everybody they got a truck that will run somewhat decent are only AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN
