to God be the Glory; but apparently when he was telling u to drive smart, safe, cautious etc; u were obviously not paying attention to Him @ that point in time or just flat out ignoring him

i don't see where ur ####y @ all; all i see from u is that ur obliviously foolish to think ur all that to ur boss & u have no idea what ur doing behind the wheel hauling fuel @ speeds u say u do. i know drivers near home that haul fuel daily like u do & their truck runs faster than urs does but they don't drive it like that whether it's empty or loaded. see here, common sense is what is being used by those drivers unlike u who has shows numerous times that u have none

Thats a debatable pointAs far as getting out of a jam, yeah, the speed is good.As far as safety,no its not.Back in the late 80's I was hit by a truck in an 85 Nissan sentra. The truck was High ballin at 70 mph.he hit me twice. But then again, it is nice to have the speed when you need it.By the way I sit for my governed truck, its toohad to drive when I stand.

I'm saving up to buy my own truck, not to drive faster, but to become an owner operator.

I quickly browse thru this and I think this is an important point that is not being discussed... The speed limiter is actually a hazard!

Like all Ontario drivers, my truck is governed to 105km/h (yes I am Canadian and will use km instead of miles) However, my cruising speed is usually around 100-101km/h, because I know the limiter limit 1 of my movement, to accelerate to get out of a potential accident!

    A few examples:
    - Wiggle wagon wiggling, yes the best way out is to accelerate and "pull" the whole set straight, and I drive wiggle wagons so I am well aware of that...
    - Trailer skid, again, accelerate to pull the trailer to trail again
    - If you see a bump on the road ahead, it is actually better to accelerate thru the bump, than crusiing, coasting or braking

These are the few that I can think of, and I am sure experts from OOIDA can find a few more points

1 more point, I personally think it is an unsafe practice to cruise right at the limiter speed, because you have set it up in a way to limit 1 of your safety feature, your gas padel! Now that Ontario allows double 53" (53" dolly 53" setup), and I've talked to some of those guys and yea they accelerate and use gas padel to keep the set straight on bumps and stuff... But the key is, the speed limit for them is 90km/h and they usually cruise around this speed, and their truck is governed at 105km/h. So the point is, room to accelerate is key!

It's like you say. You drive 100 instead of 105, so you have the possibility to speed up if necessary. Speed limit in ontario is 100 clicks so where is the problem..??

I don't like my speedlimiter either, hell I don't, but I don't think it'll help much to throw it on unsafety to try to get rid of it. In my opinion a truck governed at 105 km/h while the speedlimit is 100 doesn't make sense. If they don't want people speeding then fine them. Everybody did go 55 ( or was it 60..??) in Ohio because you knew there was a big chance of being ticketed. Our speed is regulated because of the big companies. It has got nothing to do with safety...

That's why I don't cruise at my Max speed. I'm governed to 61mph on cruise and 64mph with my foot to the floor. So I have a little bit of wiggle room.
