Theoretically, you could unplug it and put in a dummy switch to make it look like its plugged in but not working.

You have to carry paper logs anyway incase the e logs screw up, which they do every now and then.

So in theory, you could just run paper, get an inspection and show the elogs are not running correctly.

please punctuate in your mind during your next post, then insert thought out punctuation into that post. by doing so we can read it more easily.punctuate as you post.not being rude but just punctuate.[/QUOTE]

Your right my puctuation and spelling is off but does it really matter? What really matters is how much money you have in the bank and invested so i challenge you lets see who has more commas.lets see if the bank asked to check my spelling when they approve me for that 1.5 mil loan.

I find your thinking wrong. Before my truck was cut back to 68 mph from 74 mph, I could do one of our runs with just a little time to spare. Now I run out of driving hours 20 minuted before my unload point and I can't get back to our yard legally because that is another 30 minutes away from our unload point.

It is a 700 mile round trip day. I can't log it anymore with a 68 mph truck.

Maybe I am confused but with 11 hours of driving 700 miles would log at 63 mile average. So legally it can be done...

If you sit and drive for 11hrs. maybe. But take into account meals, bathroom, load/unload,and fuel stops and you be good to get 600 650.

No not really you get 14 hours so that leaves 3 for meals, bathroom, and you only need 15 minutes for unload you can log the extra unload time as off duty. Maybe we are talking 2 different systems. I have a truck set at 69 and running 700 hundred miles is not a problem even with fueling ,eating, bathroom breaks etc..

You have 14 hours on duty, 11 hours drive time. 11 x 60 is 660. 11 x 65 is 715. Obviously you're not going to average 65 all day long. 68 gives you room to play with. You can do 720 in a day with a truck that runs 68 mph, even with meal and bathroom breaks, time for fueling, etc. even hitting mountains you can do it. It's a matter of how you drive. Consistency is key.

my truck won't go no faster than 68 mph & my company runs e logs; my longest day so far of driving is 725 miles; that was from evanston, wyoming to grand island, nebraska, with a 30 minute break @ cheyenne. not bad for keeping the door shut & staying out of the truckstops

Nope it can't be done on ND Highway 2 which is how this run is done. By the time you slow down for Devils Lake, Rugby, Minot, Stanley, Berthold, Tioga, Ray and all the other towns you average drops off considerably.

This is not the superslab here.

I tried logging it as I ran it and I lost alot of time just by being cut back. My only stops were to get rid of some body fluids and to top the tank off in Minot on the way back to Grand Forks ND. I am not much for stopping unless it is needed. I just want to get the job done and get home to family.

I ran Grand Forks nd to the tank farm just south of the scale in Williston Nd most of last summer. I ran 74-75 where I could, kept the left door closed and only had 10 min or less left daily on my drive clock.
The guys that were cut at 68 and 72 couldn't do it. Those little towns on 2 really slow your average down!
