yesterday i did 632 miles in 8hours 57minutes of driving time. but yea, you can easily get just as much done in the same time in a governed truck if u keep the doors closed

That's 70.6145 mph. Let's see if you can break this record..!!

Great job, doing this speed with 100,000 lbs gross weight diesel fuel... Wish i had drivers like you..!!

Pretty impressive when u consider I did 3 loads, meaning I had to get off the interstate 6 times (3 to load, 3 to unload)

Thats not even close to my own record brah, just threw it out there cause it happened yesterday

Well... I'm not going to read 38 pages of this... so I'll cut to the chase!

I "put up with" my governed truck, because the governor doesn't bother me. 65 mph is sufficient. There's been times I wish I could push it a little more, but honestly, doing so would've been a mistake money-wise if I was an O/O. Why floor it to pass some guy going 64, just so I can go 65? Then he passes me on the next hill.. Repeat. Just waste. Slowing down is better all around. :)

I have to say it would be nice to be NOT goverened, yet still have the willpower to temper the throttle. That'd be the hard part for me.

It's very impressive, means that your average speed on the highway must be close to 80 mph..!!

You know, when i get a long grade going down and I'm doing 80 mph at the bottom with 100,000 gross I really don't feel very comfortable, thinking what would happen when I blow a tire on the steers. You're a tough cookie, you're doing 80 for 9 hours in a row... Very, very impressive...

I don't go over 78 brah, I don't need to get myself a ticket. I'm not too worried about my steers. I only run them at 11k, and I check their pressure every single day, unlike most the clowns in this industry. Our steers are always somewhat new too. Mine are actually less than 2 weeks old right now. We have a company policy not to put over 50k on steers. Once they get close to 50, we run them out on the trailer, and throw a new set on

Did 768 mile once in a SWIFT truck governed at 62 for the day, It was a Sunday. I still did not make any money working for them, but I felt like driving that day. Took about 13.25 hours with a few stops along the way and some good weather.

What I don't understand is the super trucker remarks. Why do guys who are in governed trucks always have to call drivers who can GO THE SPEED LIMIT supertruckers? Happens all the time. Heck, I've read it a couple times in this thread alone. Makes no sense. I can run the speed limit. I don't impede traffic. I'm sorry that you are not able to but don't hate on me cause my truck ain't governed. Most the time I run 65-68. But there are times that I will run 70 or 75, depending on the state and situation. But that's the speed limit. How does that make me a stupid trucker? I've had idiots talk trash like that on the CB when they get passed.

Honestly, it pissses me off because I don't tailgate, I don't drive unsafe....I know what the heck I'm doing. I'm courteous and treat other drivers....be it big rig or four wheeler.....the way I'd like to be treated.

These same jerk offs that spout 'super trucker' insults are the same drivers that tail gate four wheelers, set in the middle lane ten mph below speed limit, don't slow down in work zones or other reduced speed zones, etc..... I could go on and on....

    Rant over....

    ^^^What They Said^^^
Also I'd like to add; I like to set my cruise at the speed limit even if it's 70 or 75 mph.
Makes you wonder why some "trucks" fly through the parking lots at Truck Stops, Shippers/Receivers, Walmarts, etc.
