I woudn't mind if my truck was governed at 75 mph and the cruise set to 68. Thats my usual cruise speed.

The justification is money & THAT is the bottom line
Combine 2 points of view and its the perfect outcome

I think they issue non-governed trucks to the guys with weak bladders. They speed past me all the time, then stop on the shoulder to pee. 30 miles later, repeat. etc, etc.

Oh don't get me wrong, they'll tell you they are very very busy at making money. They pull into the truckstop and sit in the fuel isle for an hour taking their time finding just the right size coffee and walking through every isle in the store, twice.

Well Jamin, all I can say is never say never. Things change and it could be that one day, your company will cut back your trucks to save on fuel, regardless of the speed limit

i have driven a slow trk, thank goodness it wasnt for very long...but i dont knock those that do...my problem is when i am out in the hammer lane comin on strong and (insert company of choice here) has been behind company x for the last 3 miles...and RIGHT when i am almost to their bumper....low and behold, the suddenly need to pass .....and usually NO ONE is behind me....and they are going 62...i WAS doing 78.....thats my gripe with slow trucks....

This whole discussion really is a moot point. Companies will continue to use any means necessary to save fuel and csa points so if your a company driver your 99% probably driving a goverened truck, if your a USA owner operator then you do what you please. If your a canadian O/O it dont matter as we are speed limited by law and deal with it. I dont have any problems making my deliveries with a 63 mph truck, but it would be nice to get up and rock n roll some days but it is what it is and no amount of dick measuring is going to make any difference! Because thats all it is , an ego thing, "my trucks faster than yours blah blah blah" ,who cares!
