I guess....I teach my boys to never let a woman touch garbage, pump gas, open the door for her, etc. To each his own though

actually, what i said, was in "jest"....i wanted to stir up some "stuff", but seems like no one actually took that bait....

when the ex was sick, i'd have to do everything, up to of course, making the kids school lunches, laundry, ironing, making dinners, brushing the girls hair and pony tailing it....etc,etc.. the boys combed thier own hair, and if one or both of my boy's wanted his hair ponied tailed, i'd have given him (or them) up for adoption.

to this day, i DO open doors for women, especially the one that leads to the garbage cans......!!!!!!!.......lol

    Or the kitchen right?

I shall now run back to my cave before the ladies realize I said that.

I couldn't tell you were speaking in jest, my fault. It is important to mold our boys to real men though. I'm hard on them for that reason

Yeah, this thing USED to be a brotherhood...I grew up hearing that too. Sadly though, like most things, the "new blood" rarely take the traditions that are in place as seriously as those who came before them. As far as the guys watching...well, the guys in the trucks are likely watching to make sure you don't hit them, and the guys in the Parking lot were probably bored. The dude you asked that didn't help...well, I'd bet he's probably just a jerk.

The brotherhood died in the 90's, when we were starting to be individuals in trucks that had sleepers we could spend all 10 hours in and now we have more crap that keeps us in there.

    What traditions?

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

OP the driver that just sat there looking at you probably couldn't hear you.

I cant hear most of what is said to me in a truck lot. You have to pretty much yell if you are near an idling truck.. Esp mine with that whole reefer business going on behind me.
