why do ham operators act like they are so darn special and act so stuck up

    For the most part, hams don't care if you run an export as long as you don't transmit on any frequency in the 28.000 MHz range unless you're licensed for that segment, and you're using the right mode for that segment. The problem that stems from exports is some users flip the band switch instead of the channel knob and go from 27.185 MHz (channel 19) to 28.085....which happens to be a non voice area of the 10 meter area.

    Well that is what I always thought. My thoughts are one shouldn't buy a radio that they don't understand how to use properly. But then there are those that can't even manage to adjust a mic gain on a Cobra 29 properly so I guess I shouldn't be surprised when they buy a radio they know nothing about and end up on the ham band!
