I have a question.
Other than something wrong on your app,health,ect....
Why do people leave the school and drop out. After you spend the time getting to the school why then.
do they just feel they can't learn or do they fall behind and get sent home?
why do people drop out

I start Swift School on Jan 30th in Lewiston, Id.

According to the ATA 36% of newbies washout in the first 90 days. That's a scarey and troubling number.
Skip1965 Thanks this. -
For a million different reasons. The most common for drivers under 50 is recruiter lies and homesickness. A lot of these younger guys have kids or girlfriends they can't or won't leave for weeks at a time and they only come to realize it when they're actually away otr. As for recruiters, they tell these young guys they'll make 80 gs their first year, and when new drivers finally figure out it was a lie and they were better off working at foot locker or tgi fridays, they bail. For the guys over 50, it probably comes down to health, comfort and quality of life. Every circumstance is unique though. I only just turned 25 and I had to leave at 24 due to xchronic illness

actually trucking seems like a glamorous lifestyle to some....and once they see what it really involves...they cant handle it....it really is not for everyone....it is a hard life..not that we havent had fun and enjoyed it, but being away from home period, your own bed, and stuff is hard enough, then throw in not seeing family or friends, or even having a regular life....when i was younger i loved being on the road...i guess if trucking was the way it used to be , i still would....but it and the people have changed so much...i hate being on the road anymore....
