I was going to say the crab mentality. For example, in certain states, an oversized will have a permitted speed limit that’s 10mph slower than the posted truck speed limit which is 10mph slower than the posted limit for all other autos. So, if I am behaving perfectly, I should be running at a minimum of 20 mph SLOWER than the flow of traffic.
Guess what happens?
Nothing changes. Traffic is still the same. Everything that everyone complains about will still be the same for me and it should not be. It makes no sense. No matter what speed I run, traffic remains the same. Ever play one of those racing video games and go slow? The game doesn’t change.
I will run super slow down the bigroad, have some NPC goofing off in front of me, and another matching speed with my trailer axle. Hit the turn signal, finally get the Dingleberry to pass, and he will match speed with the slowpoke in front of me. As soon as I get into the left lane, slow poke picks up speed. Are they being a-hole’ish or following programming?
Why do people speed up when you try to pass them?

3 lane highway, number one lane truck restricted, 2am. There are 2 cars within a mile from you. You were running 65, one car was running 70, and the last car 75+. Suddenly, you are tailgating and blocked in from the left or both cars are now content to ride right beside you for miles.
You come up on an accident on the bigroad at 2am. 2 fours and an 18 involved. Why is there an accident involving 2 cars and a semi at 2am and the road is nearly empty???Flat Earth Trucker and Lonesome Thank this.
