Never said K200 had more room. Implied you are comparing apples to oranges as usual. Most sleepers are smaller on Australian built trucks... Probably market driven. 50" seems to be a big sleeper. @haycarter might be our best source of information on this, not an article found on Google.

There was much lobbying on the Obama administration and the Obama era EPA by Volvo ( a foreign owned truck manufacture with the largest share holder a Chinese company ) and others to change the EPA regulations regarding gliders. Regulator changes where made but not yet enacted the would have effectively outlawed gliders.

Trump and new EPA administrator Pruitt have rescinded these regulatory changes and they are still very legal.

See the resent opinion article on the subject in the WSJ

50" is as Big as practicable here.. Mack do a 60" as a Factory option. The after Market guys go up to (I think) 72"

Our Length Laws apply to"overall" (Bumper to Bumper) Length.. 36-40" would be the most Common size with Conventional trucks..

Oxbow, spsauerland and daf105paccar Thank this.

What are those over all length limits? Here some states have a 75 foot bumper to bumper length, but there are easy ways around it such as a cheap annual permit. For instance in Florida if i can't get my kingpin to center of tandems 41 feet or less when pulling a trailer longer than 48 i would need a permit that cost 25 dollars.
