This magnificent art deco building once was the Battersea power plant. Today it is used for offices etc., Apple UK is situated there.

This is the former Bankside power plant, today is is the famous Tate gallery for modern art.

Both power plants were coal fired (wonderful clean coal of course, not dirty coal!!).

There are no power plants inside London, they are further away, and most likely gas powered.

In my overtaxed country the price is about $2.50 per US Gallon, and it is offered by many producers. What would happen if during the summer all those agricultural machines would put such a strain on the supply of diesel, that there is no diesel left for trucks? Have you thought about that?
Ah, there is something in the US constitution that says that congress has to ask the people about diesel emissions? Try to read up about "Representative Democracy".
Very true. NO2 is a wonderful gas, we should have lots of it in the atmosphere. Stopping it from being emitted from the exhausts of trucks is a crime.

Yes, there are still nuclear power plants in Europe. Germany is closing them down, as well as Belgium. I do not know of any new nuclear power plants being planned, so I suppose in the coming decades they will all be closed down.

Britain once had many huge coal burning power stations, but almost all of them have closed down. Remember the miner strikes when Margaret Thatcher was prime minister?
At that time Britain found lots of gas in the North Sea, so they used it to heat houses and produce electricity. But there are also power planst using bio mass and there are nuclear power plants. The British national grit makes it possible to get electric power from all over the country, and even from neighbouring countries if they need it. They are also building wind farms in the North Sea. Happy?

Natural gas is all great til you have leaks. Methane is way more potent greenhouse gas vs CO2.

True, but do you have any idea how much methane is produced by swamps and farting cows and termites?
