Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

I have two trucks with retarders (Cat).

There was a guy here running voith driveline retarder but had lots of issues with it . He eventually took them all off.
But they sure worked good when they worked!!

 

I know the difference but they both have same purpose. I think it is more effective braking by engine. zf retarder can be ordered in usa. but who will cut the driveshaft, balance it,... ? nobody I guess
in usa when you order new setra bus you have option to get voith retarder factory installed. But as always costumers prefer jake brake.

 

I have driven new turkish benz actros which was assembled at aksaray, turkey plant. they assemble atego too and buses. I guess its just assembly plant.

 

(1) Cost.
(2) Ssssss does not sound as cool as Brrrrr.

that is clear, anything that cost is not welcome in USA, their truck are years behind ours in development stage

 

actros or axor?

i ask because in turkey they dont have too many of actros trucks,

axor is built there, actros just assembled

 

there is no cooling issues with engine brake, just need to have enough oil pressure to lubricate everything,

but it does not make sense to compare retarder and engine brake in terms of power.....
