I agree, I also think it is a Mercedes. These trucks are very popular in the Sahara. DAF did export trucks to the middle east, in fact they has special models for the middle east. I do know that if they offered a 10 ton truck there, it was actually designed for 20 tons. They knew how it would be used :).

Ah,i have to advertise for a rival website.
    Hank's Truck Pictures Forum.
    Do a search there.
They have been spotted several times.
Most likely they test them while hauling products for their factory.
BTW there is a CF and XF in the Kenworth Center.

    QUOTE:
Drivers say they hate cabovers because they think of the ones they used in the '70s. When we were testing these trucks two weeks ago, drivers loved them.

I talked to one of the drivers of the Volvo FH cabovers at Transport Robert in Boucherville Quebec.
And yes, he said he loved the cabover.
But.... he also said that he still preferred the VNL conventonal.

So you seem to think that Europeans like their trucks to break down, pay enormous repair bills, have lots of downtime? Most European drivers are employed, so if their trucks break down, their company still has to pay their wages. All truck manufacturers have Europe wide networks to minimize downtime, in fact the quality of that network is a strong selling point.

After reading about the kind of truck you like, I thought this might be something for you:

    Sentinel S8.jpg

It's a 1934 Sentinel S8 steam wagon. No electronics, no emission controls, just a simple steam motor.

Caesar, belive me, US trucks have some advantages, I like too. That's why I operate both EU and US trucks.

And I use to work on DAF, I have DAF Davie, my friend did reverce engeneering of Paccar DEF system, and we know a lot about DAF trucks. We have all DAF diagrams, workshop manuals.

For example, can u disable DEF on DAF 105 (no Emilation), ore disable immobilazer of LF ore XF 95?

In Europe there's no leasing of trucks by drivers or a owner operator running under another companies authority . Is that correct...?

Are most western euro drivers paid by kilometer or % ...?
