Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

No, it is an automated unsynchronized gearbox, remember? There are a few more bits than on a manual, but not very many, and they don't weigh that much either.

My '15 MX11 front leaf spring suspension is heavier then a '18 or '19 MX 13 with air suspension front axle.
Air suspension front axle is around 200kg or 400lbs.

 

But where the difference comes from? I know facelift Daf has got smaller exhaust, but really rest atleast looks the same.

To start with, the purchasing price would be much lower. Then the automated (not automatic, that is Allison) transmission would reduce fuel consumption, and even if it seems to be a small amount, it adds up. Most likely the clutch will show less wear. The gearbox control software will make sure that the speed of the engine and of the gearbox input shaft will match as much as possible before the clutch is engaged again.

I know that a '15 Volvo is heavier then a '15 Daf with similiar specs.

 

You don't seem to know that when economies like the Chines one, are growing very fast, their wages are growing very fast as well. Many European companies already have brought production from China back to Europe, because the higher waged combined with the transport costs, as well as other considerations, made production in Europe more profitable.
