It doesn't only look solid, it is solid. Tatra'trucks are unique in the world. They don't have a conventional chassis, but instead a massive central tube that contains the drive shafts and the differentials. You can not twist that tube. No beam axles, but swing axles instead. The best off-road trucks in the world according to many. And by the way, it is one of the oldest car and truck manufacturers in the world.

And why shouldn't the ground be solid? If you like I can find videos and photographs of these trucks in deep mud. Solid ground makes a truck loose traction if the surface isn't even.
