    Yes, some had the German 358, some the American 360. I don't know about the smaller engines.
    The 358 was also used in UK Seddon Atkinson trucks, when IH still owned SA.

    Not going to argue about it, but I always thought the DV550 was a US engine, based off the 537 gas engine. I'm pretty sure you can bolt the 537 gas heads directly (or with minor modifications) onto the 550 block.
    Tractor version idled on 4 as well.
    For sure not the most succesfull engine.

    The later 9.0 (different block and heads and "normal" direct-injection instead of the spherical combustion chamber in the piston, much like the MAN M-combustion process) is supposedly a better engine.
    It was never used in the farm tractors, as far as I'm aware.

    The Australian assembled 696, 766 & 786 Tractors used the Nuess D310. As well as the unique to Australia 8-5 & 711 Header (Combine to you)

    You are correct, & I stand Corrected..
    I'll blame it on my grey hair.LOL
