You're absolutely right. Some truck dealer in Austria faked this test. First he built that ramp, and then he had it covered with 1000 tonne of sand, just to make this video clip.

This is the type of truck you see in the video, a 50 tonne (110,000 lbs) 8 x 8. Just look at the size of the tyres.

On the next clip the trucks stops on the ramp, and then gets going again.

This is essentially the same truck, but a bit lighter with smaller tyres, and it is a 6 x 6 x 4

And this is the web site of the dealer:

Home - Tschann | DAF dealer for trucks in Austria and Germany

can you put this prototype again, i dont remember if i have seen it.

as much i am informed ginaf now build only mining trucks no longer "standard trucks"?

actually tatra is doing quite bad, last year only 700 trucks, 2017 1650, they have 1700 employers. main technical director and constructor went from company....

introducing special model is not simple for big systems.

that explain a lot, price would be comparable with scania, except on such large scales scania can offer more attractive prices. but than DAF is stupid that they even considered to win such project using that strategy.

hm body is made by KH kipper from poland, mixer is from stetter - germany.
tipper by itself would cost about 18.000-20.000€
mixer from stetter about 25.000€ in basic version
how much would they charge for wechselsystem i have no idea but maybe 15000€?.
my last one was german meiller tipper, austrian meiller wechselystem and top model of liebherr mixer, all together 85.000€.
if you make something that is not mass production and come from west its price went into sky....
meiller charge you 26000€ for wechselystem

    Sure, no problem:

The slope upwards is 30°, the slope downwards is 45°. Look carefully at the final seconds of the clip.
No, in the past they made their own chassis, and used daf engines and cabs, the AS Tronic with their own program, and axles etc. from other manufacturers. Now they modify standard DAF chassis by adding axles, hydraulic front axles etc. So they still produce normal highway tippers.
That's a shame, they are getting more and more dealers over here. In Germany Tatra succeeded in selling trucks to the THW, the civil defence organization of the German ministry of the interior.
Of course they also produce in India and Kazakhstan I think.
    No, it isn't
No, I don't think it was stupid. DAF wanted to sell the army a proper off-road truck, and they would have had to develop one. That is very expensive for just a few thousand trucks. The Tatra has been developed, no more development costs. So even if the Tatra is more expensive to produce, the development costs of a completely new DAF truck would have been much higher per vehicle.

Unfortunately the politicians choose a civilian truck in army green.
