The concrete workers love them over here....

Rear discharge only used in big cities where most jobs are pump or crane unloading .

    At least around me......

thank You for video, I have tried 70% incline in arocs, have experienced 100% on mog with their driver.
going 100% with truck take some balls.

i will bold your text as quote

No, in the past they made their own chassis, and used daf engines and cabs, the AS Tronic with their own program, and axles etc. from other manufacturers. Now they modify standard DAF chassis by adding axles, hydraulic front axles etc. So they still produce normal highway tipper.
yes i said build, i did not said convert.

That's a shame, they are getting more and more dealers over here. In Germany Tatra succeeded in selling trucks to the THW, the civil defence organization of the German ministry of the interior.
Of course they also produce in India and Kazakhstan I think.

seen two tatra trucks on bauma. tatra is no longer comunist #### like it used to be.

see below: you are arguing with yourself once more, i have said: "introducing special model is not simple for big systems." and you reply with:
    No, it isn't

considering that i am deeper into truck industry than you, i would say it is still too expensive for big systems(companies) as daf is that is why there is a ginaf, laxa, tonimaurer, titan, ctt , popp.paul....

    my text:
that explain a lot, price would be comparable with scania, except on such large scales scania can offer more attractive prices. but than DAF is stupid that they even considered to win such project using that strategy.

No, I don't think it was stupid. DAF wanted to sell the army a proper off-road truck, and they would have had to develop one. That is very expensive for just a few thousand trucks.

now you are against your own words.

No, I don't think it was stupid. DAF wanted to sell the army a proper off-road truck
Unfortunately the politicians choose a civilian truck in army green.

there is a thing about daf ya4440/4442, they were cross country trucks on big 14.00 tires, single, 5/6 gears transmission switchable front driven axle but WITHOUT DIFFERENTIAL LOCK !!!.
there is no proper you deliever only what they want.

That depends on how you define 'build'. The resulting trucks are quite different from standard DAF trucks, and the have the GINAF brand name on the cab.

I'm sure they have improved building quality, but they are still producing trucks that are essentially the same as 30 years ago

You misunderstand what I'm writing here, I agreed with you.
If they wanted to sell the army a DAF truck, they would have had to develop one. That was far to expensive I assume.
DAF is not in the off-road business. They don't have components and experience there. That's why trying to sell the army Tatra trucks was a good idea. DAF can produce engines etc, perhaps even assemble, and the army would have had good off-road trucks in stead of green civilian Scanias.

Two things. First its a marketing video, not a controlled test. Second: German manufacturers have a history of faking real tests. Ever heard of Volkswagen?

    Das ist unmöglich.

But yeah, 700 trucks per year is terrible. I wonder how much of this is due to Daf actually selling less trucks last year.

This was hardly a marketing video. The video clip of that smaller 6 x 6 was a real marketing video. These guys just went out to some sand depot to try out what this truck can do, and someone made a video of it.

Tatra is not German, it is a Czech company, and the video was posted by an Austrian DAF dealer that also sells Tatra now.

The diesel scandal was not limited to Volkswagen. Almost all diesel car manufacturers had done the same. Several Japanese companies have stopped producing diesel cars altogether. The problem was that the strickt interpretation of the rules allowed this to happen. The rules have been changed now, so that realistic measurements are now in place. By the way, gasoline engines with direct injection produce far more fine dust.

Accurate and well informed as ever.

    Record production
To meet the high demand for its trucks, DAF produced a record number of more than 67,000 light, medium and heavy trucks in 2018, an increase of 10.1% compared to the previous year. DAF estimates that the market for heavy trucks will be strong again in 2019, at a volume of between 290,000 and 320,000 units.

True, that's why many are now getting particulate filters as well.

Or they use dual injection systems, for example on the new Ecoboosts in the F150 and in Toyota's (probably more will follow?)

They have a complete low pressure port injection system to inject gasoline into the intake runners, like on conventional MPFI engines.
They also have a complete high pressure direct injection system to inject gasoline directly into the cilinders.
So the V6 Ecoboost engine has 12 injectors, 6 direct, 6 port.

At low loads (emission cycles) they run mainly on the port injection system, which provides best emissions, and (in particular) low particle emissions.
At higher loads they run on the 2 systems combined, or on the direct injection only, to achieve better performance.

Go to my local Daf salelsguy (who moved from Volvo last year) and ask him to go outside for cigarette.

He will explain why actually Daf sales are down, why he is struggling to sell trucks. I don't care about your internet information. The fact is they had so much warranty repairs, and because of those huge orders made by "big guys" the prices went up so crazy (Scania level) that they had problems to sell. Especially that Eindhoven believes now that Daf is "premium" brand, yeah :D:D:D
