Interesting video. The usual attention to all kind of blinking and shining parts, as could be expected.

I saw some connectors that can be used for lights on the beautiful chrome air filters. I just don't know why you should want to put lights on an air filter. And if you don't, those connectors will stay where they are? Then they will corrode rather quickly.

I also have a question about the seats, is this a normal type of seat in a US truck?

They seem to be very basic.

These are the specifications of the top of the line DAF seats:

    • Air suspension
    • Four steps seat cushion damper
    • Quick lowering adjustment
    • 220 / 145 mm Longitudinal / Vertical adjustment
    • Backrest angle and cushion length adjustment
    • Adjustable shoulder support
    • Seat tilt adjustment
    • Lumbar support bellows mid-lower
    • Lumbar support bellows mid-upper
    • Lumbar support bellows left-right
    • Two steps heating
    • Active seat ventilation
    • Seat belt height adjustment
    • Air gun connection
    • Leather seat border upholstery
    • Leather seat edge upholstery

No massage in a top of the line DAF seat? So by now you should already know we can get the exact same seats like that in trucks here if you pay for it.

medioker, Oxbow, pushbroom and 2 others Thank this.

To be more precise, DAF offers 5 seats, the top three have almost the same specifications, the difference is the upholstery.

If you want even better seats, companies like Recaro can offer them.

My point is that I don't understand why someone would put such basic seats is such a rather expensive truck. A very good seat should be far more important than all that blinking stuff in my view.

Nice, but that still doesn't explain the very basic seats in that W900.

That is a dealer spec, stock order truck. Dealers don't actually sit in them and drive them. I think he did say it was a Legacy seat and they are OK seats but not anywhere near the best imo. Some of the guys on here spec'ing a brand new truck for their personal use probably get the best seat money can buy. I've never bought a new one but if I did it would certainly have a good seat. I have a top of the line seat in my old truck. Some fleet buying that brand new W900L for a driver, they're not going to get spendy on a good seat, that one is good enough....

In fact I would be very surprised if European fleets purchase top of the line seating for their drivers. It's an easy way to cut costs and bean counters aren't the ones who end up with back problems.
