Last we looked into it was in 2014 so I am sure a lot has changed by now. At time it was possible, but not recommended. Have seen some running hydraulic set-up, but it is not standalone unit. Cooler was about size of 1/2 ton pick up radiator.SAR, daf105paccar and Oxbow Thank this.

I was surprised when the "oversize liner" was the fix for counterbore repair. I was pretty surprised when @ my first Paccar engine training class and they showed us the liner/counterbore design. I was expecting midstop liner, but it was a knockoff of Cummins 444 LPF liner minus the sealing ring!
Seems like counterbore issues/HG issues are more common when everyone has bumped up compression ratio and lowered peak torque RPM. I am not a Cummins cheerleader @ all, but I like the idea of a dissimilar metal shim @ the counterbore joint. Lessens fretting and acts as a bearing. Cummins had a whole book back in day (have a copy in my garage) about the Dynamics of the counterbore joint. Your not going to stop block flex, coolant implosion on the liner, or head lift totally, but just cutting block and putting it back the same way isn't a solution to the problem but just a painfully expensive band-aid. -
Had a couple Mac trailers with Hyva hoist cylinders. They seemed fine, but Custom is a little less pricey and just as durable. Have couple dump trucks with Beau-Roc beds and they use Malhot trunion mount hoist cylinders. They have what looks like a black anodized finish that doesn't seems to hold up as long as chrome finished ones in my experience.SAR, 98989, daf105paccar and 1 other person Thank this.

@KVB, we need some specs and pictures of the pulling tractor you are referring to...

hyva is considered here as mass product.
meiller make very good hydraulics but they sell it in very small quantities for other bodybuilders almost all production is for their own tippers. their cylinder is in black, i have no idea what kind of finish is that.Oxbow and spsauerland Thank this.
