Seems like counterbore issues/HG issues are more common when everyone has bumped up compression ratio and lowered peak torque RPM. I am not a Cummins cheerleader @ all, but I like the idea of a dissimilar metal shim @ the counterbore joint. Lessens fretting and acts as a bearing. Cummins had a whole book back in day (have a copy in my garage) about the Dynamics of the counterbore joint. Your not going to stop block flex, coolant implosion on the liner, or head lift totally, but just cutting block and putting it back the same way isn't a solution to the problem but just a painfully expensive band-aid. -

meiller make very good hydraulics but they sell it in very small quantities for other bodybuilders almost all production is for their own tippers. their cylinder is in black, i have no idea what kind of finish is that.Oxbow and spsauerland Thank this.
