If a MX doesn't burn oil, it means it is broken.
I think actually @daf105paccar once said that, and I agree, they all do.
Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

As long as they are similar. Mixing synthetic with mineral is not a good idea.
At the moment that oil is listed as a full synthetic. Is that true? I don't know, there's no specification sheet of that oil as they should provide to see if that oil can be used in your engine.
Based on the knowledge of engine manufacturers, synthetic oil is necessary for certain engines.
It all depends on the circumstances. I mentioned Kroon oil before, and for very good conditions, they even recommend a change interval of 90,000 miles with their premium synthetic oil.
You could not be more wrong. Try reading up on engine oil, there's plenty of information available
Yes, they require low SAP synthetic oil. Using the wrong oil can damage the DPF and catalyst. -
If the oil confirms to the engine specifications, sure. But if you can't find a specification sheet of the oil, how are you suppose to know?
-
What brand and type of oil is that 0W-40?
-
You read the label. API CK-4 for example. The engine has a simple oil requirement, it is found in the owner's manual, and often on the oil fill cap.
Feedman, SAR, spsauerland and 2 others Thank this. -

Watch till end.medioker, sdaniel, spsauerland and 1 other person Thank this. -
You seem to be using the DELO® 400 XSP SAE 5W-40 oil. That is an excellent oil, and it confirms to the Acea E9 specification. It seems US engines often need Acea E9 oil instead of European engines that require Acea E6 oil.

Yup,i said that and i stand by it.spsauerland and Oxbow Thank this.

Interesting, because our MX's don't require oil top off. My brother runs a one of our 2016 T880 tractors that is over the 300,000 mile mark. He has told me after an oil change that it will creep to about the "ADD" mark around 7500 miles, then hold rock steady there til oil change of 22,500 miles. Noticed one driver was using oil on a 2012 Pete with EPA10 MX. Asked him if it goes below add mark and he said no. He hasn't added oil in over a year and truck has 660,000 miles on it. We run Guardol ECT 15W-40 synthetic blend oil and Paccar filters on the MX, Wix on the Cats, Cummins, and Mack engines. Oil change interval on tractors is 22,500 and 12,000 on dump trucks. Oil analysis @ every oil change. Last cost on oil was $8.52 a gallon bulk delivered and the cost includes the unlimited oil analysis from third party lab.SAR, daf105paccar and pushbroom Thank this.
