Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

I wish I was working on a cabover yesterday.....
International lonestar. Cutting counterbores, rear 3 cylinders were under the cab. I was straddling the block to cut #6 and bent over like a gymnast. Never cut a hole so fast out of sheer rage before.

 

I did a bit of work on a fleet of Workstars dump trucks a few years back. Hated those things with a passion. Same deal, half the engine under the cab and the other half covered in plastic shrouds.

 

WTF??? Censorship much?

Just lifting the head out would be a pain on that.

 

At least some of the old binders had an easily removeable doghouse. Probably wants to make you hug that 389 in the background. I am on easy street today, putting air compressor and fixing couple things on our W900B with an E. Having to dust off my SAE sockets!

 

Luckly it was at a customers shop. All i had to do was cut the block and then speed outta there back to red oval land.
He did say he had the head at 45 degrees to get it to clear the front structure and firewall.

 

I imagine. Just the difference between our 379 and 378 is substantial when it comes to putting and engine in.
