And aluminum or stainless grille, and stainless breather housings, filters are usually cellulose or synthetic nano fiber media.

An interesting article about using a 48V electric system in trucks:

What 48-Volt Electrical Systems Could Mean for Trucking

There's on thing in the article I disagree with. It is said that trailers must remain using 12V. When you have a road train with 3 trailers like in Australia or Canada, the drop in voltage from the tractor to the rear lights of the last trailer is very significant, perhaps you are left with 6V there. The Australian government has written some documents on this issue. With 48V the current (in Amps) would be just 25%, so the drop in voltage would be far less. So actually the trailers would benefit greatly from a move to 48V.

The logistics and inefficiencies of having a mixture of voltages will be very expensive to overcome.

Those of us that remember series/parallel switches aren't eager to return to that, but it is conceivable to start building trailers and tractors that have the ability to use multiple voltages. It all comes down to how much money an owner is willing to spend to replace a system that already works.

Here as well, but the braking and suspension systems on euro trailers may not be as forgiving.

Still, why create a problem where none exists?
