Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

    Just be honest.... You guys there in EU replacing your trucks sooner because your emission laws limit an access of older trucks to certain places... Not because you love newer technology so much.... If there where no such things like Euro-2, 3, 4, 5 your EU drivers would keep their trucks way longer.

    Ouh no man, I my shaker is Euro-2, Volvo is E3 and they keep running on EU roads

    Today it is nearly impossible to operate emission euro5 , you need euro6 , of course you will keep euro5 for some time instead of replacing it with e6 before its time, but to keep euro5 for some time you need at least convert it into eev

    E6 VS E2 in Germany is more than half for tolls that makes savings of 10 000€ per year, only on tolls, if we count lower fuel consumption you get big difference

    Swiss LSVA will be very expensive for lower emission truck

    for just 100km of Swiss your euro2 truck would cost 124CHF (about same current $ -usually about 20% more) euro 6 truck would be just 82CHF ....try to calculate how much this would be on year base.....

    Don't you have to be E5 to go through Switzerland? or is that just certain roads.

    I dont think anyone tried to go in Swiss below E5 for a years......

    Don't forget the influence off the way the taxsystem works.And EU trucks are a lot cheaper.

    I can use E3 for Spaine to Asia trips for example.

    E3 permits are available
