That's AUD I suppose? That would be about US $ 280,000.
Ask yourself where the money goes.
Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

The truck prices are simply dictated by supply and demand. They change all the time due to many factors.
For example now, generally we have economical slowdown in Europe + new tachographs, which means less people buy new trucks - you can get them cheap.
I would become millionare having my cheap 80k euro Volvo in US, and I would be bancrupt buying new KW and using it here. We drive for different rates, but at the end of the year +/- we make same money (or better said, we can afford same things).
Nobody would be crazy enough to try to sell cheap truck for 150k euro here - nobody would buy it. But at the same time, you wouldn't try to sell it for 30k euro, because cheap trucks are being sold at around 65-70k euro here. So why sell it cheaper, when you can make more money.
And it's the same case with US/Australia, if there will be no demand for new trucks, rates will be ####, they will lower the prices to the point where they make 0 money, just to pay the bills, and survive hoping for better days. That's how it's working on this planet. -

Oxbow, spsauerland and Cat sdp Thank this. -
First of all, there's a certain thing called resale value - sometimes it's better to pay more in front, and get better price, when selling something. And it's the case of "hood". They just cost more than aero trucks when being sold used. And I'm not the one to judge if it's because people want them, or if they are better, they just hold value better.
Could they sell it cheaper? Yes propably they could, why they don't do it? Because they find people who buy them. And generally, those O/O who still run hood make better money out of single truck than huge fleets running aero trucks and excel spreedsheat. Think about it.
I always say one thing, if something looks stupid, but it's working, it means it's not stupid.Oxbow, medioker, spyder7723 and 2 others Thank this. -
