well this is their own rule, i have no idea why, but what if i tell you except europe and USA most of world use euro 5 or lower emission, we export many euro2 and 3 trucks as firefighters or similar.

bosnia still have euro5 , in serbia tractors have to be euro6 and rigid trucks euro 5

another thing about australia are their conditions, maybe it takes some time to test trucks to make sure they really can withstand those conditions, since almost all euro 6 trucks use egr , this raise operating temperature of engine, cooling was really issue while designing euro 6, and this is reason why most of manufacturers have to develop new cabs
another problem with european euro 6 would be even more weight on front axles, fuel capacity becomes much smaller than on euro 5 models.

They are just different. Our trucking industry evolved to fit our wants, needs , and desires . Theirs evolved to fit theirs. What sucks is someone demanding everyone has to do everything the way he sees fit!
