    dont know

well in italy it is allowed to have coil trucks that haul some crazy amount of weight legally, and it is many of those trucks, they are not allowed to travel on highways , you will find 10axle setups, i saw even 11axle setup , 3axle truck with 5axle semitrailer is allowed to have 108t this is 238 000lbs.

The truck is allowed to have 48 tonnes, the trailer can have 78 tonnes. This gives a total of 126 tonnes.

But laws in italy are, well they exist, in italy they overload they drive too fast, too long,....

i would not be surprised if truck had at least 10-15% overload

Hardly, but in the US 40,000 important bridges with major problems have been identified. Of course it can happen that bridges in Europe show problems, in the Netherlands a few weeks ago a bridge over the Rhine was found to have small cracks in the steel construction, so now it is closed for trucks and buses, and emergency repairs are being carried out.

In the late 80's we abused the American Legion Bridge between the Md and Va Border. Have a herd of 7 trucks pound across in the two left lanes on a downgrade, belly down the middle then climb like 5% for 300 yards straight out off the thing. It's like a bowl.

I-495 outer loop around Washington DC. Right at the border of Md and Va west/south side you cannot miss it.

Keep in mind we were between 90 to 105 depending on our turbo states and certain 350 mack engine bearings at 3000 plus rpm. I know you young ones want to abuse me and call BS. Go ahead, grab a unlimited mack and see the #### thing rev to 3200. Call it a 1968-1972 R model roughly. Turbo sings, then howls... whoo.

    Anyhow.

One fine day in rush hour ordinary traffic sitting still, got really snarled with one lane dropping concrete into the river, rebar and all., Left a hole about 5 feet across the lane, 3 feet front to back and wider at the bottom like a upside down saucer. Then it began to spider outwards around the full 360 of the growing hole.

DC thought about it for a second and then panic set in. You thought we were under nuclear attack or something.
